Submission Guidelines

We welcome submissions in English and Welsh from writers who are historically under-represented in the publishing industry because of race, religion, sexuality, gender identity, disability, class, caring responsibilities, or socio-economic status.

We only accept submissions from writers who have not had a full-length work published under their own name. If, however, you have had stories, poems or articles published in anthologies or in magazines you are welcome to submit a new piece of work to us.

One of our core values is artists should be paid fairly for their work. We are seeking funding to be able to pay our contributors in the future. At this time we can offer a platform for your voice, and build our community through events that promote your work.

What we’re looking for

Our first issue will be on the theme of social class, whether that be our own class system in the UK or a speculative fiction take on what social class might look like in the future. We would particularly like to read intersectional writing on class, and works of, or incorporating, dialect.

Short stories and non-fiction from 1,000 to 3,000 words. Up to three pieces of flash fiction from 300 to 1,000 words. Up to three poems with a maximum of 40 lines (including spacing).

Previously unpublished work only. We accept simultaneous submissions but please let us know straight away if your work is accepted elsewhere.

Please include the title in the header .doc, .docx or .odt files only, and saved as the title and category of your submission (please do not include your name). Prose should be in a legible font and double spaced.

Only one submission per category, unless you are submitting in both English and Cymraeg, in which case, one submission per language.

Where to submit

Send submissions to [email protected] with your submission category, title, and your name in the subject line (CATEGORY/TITLE/NAME). There is no need to send a bio. If we accept your writing, we’ll ask you for one then. As a Welsh magazine we do prioritise the work of people living in, or with a connection to Wales, so please let us know if this is the case for you.

We aim to reply with a decision as soon as possible, however, we are a small team of volunteers so please bear with us.

Sometimes we may accept work subject to revision. If so, we will work with you to edit your piece for publication.
